Photo's Are Eye Candy

I know I'm putting up a lot of photos but I love blogs that have a lot of photos.  Of course these are more quilts from the quilt show.  Let me know if you have a lot of photos posted with quilts from your quilt shows as I love to look at them.  Today I'm trying to sun dye a fabric with knives and rocks.  I'll take photos and show you the fabrics that I used a dye remover on last week-end.  They turned out great..  I think I can do a tutorial on how I did it right in my small kitchen!!

Another Bloomington Blog With Photos

Lots of Art quilts and not as many traditional quilts this year.  I do have photos of some of the traditional ones just haven't clicked on them yet.  Two posts in one day!!  Yeah

Quilts From Bloomigton Quilt Show

Here are a few more quilts from the Bloomington Indiana Quilt Show.  I took over a hundred photos so I'll share a few at a time.  I love the Art Quilts.
It's in the 70's here and suppose to be that way for the next week.  I hope it's beautiful where you are.  Now that I can get back in here I want to do a give away so keep checking back as I hope to have it together by the week-end.

I'm Here!!

I haven't been able to get on here and that's because I was using the wrong user name!!!  I have been trying since December and I was sooo mad at Blogger.  Well I now know that it was ME!  So I'm glad to be back.  I've added a few photos here but I have a lot more to share.  I love this purse and I bought it at a indoor garage sale they have a couple of times a year.  This is now my favorite.
This is our last little snow fall.  This winter has been so unusual even for here.  I'm thinking about planting some peas and lettuce as it's going to be in the 70's all week.  Worth a try!!!

I have a bunch of these kits and a lot of old fabric from a lady that died a couple of years ago and her family donated all of this stuff to the Church Sewing group.  If we sell this then we can purchase items that we can use for quilts.  If you're interested then send me an e-mail and I'll send more photos and descriptions.

This is a water color that was at our local thrift shop and I love yellow so it came home with me for a $1.99.

My friend Suzy and I went to the Bloomington Indiana Quilt show recently and I took about a hundred photos.  This is the first one so I thought I'd start sharing.  Guess what!!!!  We are going to the International Quilt Show in Cincinnati Ohio on April 14th and 15th.  We have a hotel room paid for and we are going to Ikea then the quilt show.  I am sooooo excited about this as I never thought I'd be able to go since they were always in Houston.  I don't know how many photos I will take but I'll be sharing.  Think of all the vendors also!!
I hope everyone is doing well and now that I know my log in I should be on here more often and I'll start putting on more photos of the beautiful quilts we saw and I have a couple of quilt tops finished, I did some color removing on some fabric this past week-end and I've started working on some Art Journal and Art quilts.

It's Me and Somehow It's November

The last of my Dahlia's

They had already gotten some frost bite

I finished my Disappearing 9 Patch Baby Quilt and I hand quilted it.

Yesterday I went to a class in Greensburg Indiana and spent the day cutting and  sewing.  This is the result so far.  There are 3 borders so there is some work to go.  This is all Batiks that I have been collecting for a long time.  I only purchased the background fabric so I did well at using some of my stash.  If you want to take a look at the store go to

I put a tiny love seat in my sewing room.  I can sit and watch TV and hand sew.  Of course it's an Ikea love seat as are the pillow covers.
The newspaper picture above it is some fabric I brought back from Brazil and I stapled it over another framed picture.  I know I need to redo it as it's crooked but then I think it lends some personality.
I always say this but I hope to be back sooner and I still need to take a photo of the quilt top that I made at the quilt retreat.
Take Care!!

My First Quilt Retreat

I must warn you that there are lots of photos!!  The Quilt Retreat was at Clifty Falls State Park in Madison Indiana.  The river runs behind the hotel and you can see Kentucky on the other side.  The lodge was excellent, food was great and the Quilt Retreat was sooo much fun!!

This is outside the room the retreat was in.

Hotel and the rooms had great views

Part of the room with people sewing away

Lot's of displays and items to purchase

My wonderful roommate that I had never met before.  We'll room together in February again.

Kyle who sat on one side of me and was a hoot

Some of us took a road trip downtown and this is a wonderful shop.  She even has a gazillion Christmas items in the basement but the main floor is fabric.

This is L&L Yards Goods and it's an entire house in a residential section.  Some great fabrics in here.

Leslie sat across the table from me and this is the hat that she made for the Hat Party.  I forgot so I wasn't part of that.

Here's my room mate in her hat.

The lady on the right is Lisa and she's Leslie's sister.  Don't you just love the hats??

Love the views

This is the road as I was leaving and I just love all of the trees and the shadows on the road.

My next post very soon will show you the quilt top that I made during the retreat.  If you have all of your cuts made then you can just sew away.  I have to go for now but I hope you liked all of my photos.
