Decoupaging the front of a door

I found this scrap book paper and since it was black and white I had to have it.  Now what could I do with some of it?
Here is a door that I could do something with and would dress this up, I hope.  Yes, I know it's messy but we'll leave the mess of papers for another day.  I put Mod Podge all over the front of the cabinet door (work quickly) and also all over the back of the paper.  I used on piece of paper which made this super easy.  Then I attached the paper to the front of the cabinet door and tried to get all of the wrinkles out.  There was one I could not get out but I'm okay with it as you don't notice it so much in person and it makes it look old.  I added another layer of Mod Podge on the paper after it was on the door.  But there is an area that isn't covered!  What can I do?
I took ribbon and attached it.  I put more Mod Podge on the area I was going to work on and I did the top and bottom across first.  I cut my ribbon to the length I needed and laid it on the glue.  You can adjust the ribbon easily by moving it.  My ribbon wasn't wide enough so I used two with the outside ribbon overlapping the other a bit.  Then I did the sides and let it dry.  It really dresses up the area and since I have all of that paper I think I may do the whole area.  E-mail me with any questions?
Have a great day/evening!!

Rearrange a Room in 10 Minutes/Garage Sale Finds

I was out visiting blogs today and I read about how Wendy Janelle takes 10 minutes and rearranges an area of different rooms.  I thought this was a wonderful idea as I sometimes set a timer to clean a room in a certain amount of time.  Ever done that?  I have a problem with being distracted.  I'll start in a room but something needs to go to another room and then I see something in that room that needs doing.  Sometimes I get back to the original room and sometimes I don't.  I like the idea of 10 minutes and I'm going to try it.

I did find a couple of garage sale items that I don't have to do anything to.  A filing box that will go under my desk with the files that I need often.  This is wood and the openings have leather wrapped around them.  Not bad for $2.00 and at the same sale I bought the next item.
I had a mirror over the sofa before but I love this painting. She had a price on it for $25.00 and the canvas is worth more than that but it was later in the afternoon and she had marked it down to 10 bucks.   It would not be for everyone but for me it's great.  You can't see in the photo but there is some little bits of red and the green looks so much more textured in person.  I also purchased a lot of items that need work and some I have started on.  Photos soon!!

In this photo you can see that I put a huge sheet that I bought at a garage sale a month ago on the sofa instead of the quilt.  I guess I'll need to redecorate around my new art work.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful July 4th. I've been busy doing exactly what I wanted to do. For me that is the best.

Interesting Shops That I'd Like To Visit

These are shops that are not in the US but are found in the UK.  I hope to go to the UK and spend 2-3 weeks next year if I find someone to trade homes with me.  I want to be able to feel like I live there during my stay.  These are some shops that I would like to go to even if I may not be able to spend a lot.  Eye candy here for sure.

For anyone that crochets or appreciate crochet - here is a photo for you.  A Smart car with crochet!  Now this is someone that takes crochet or maybe the car very seriously.

Doesn't this look beautiful?  This is a friends pool that I took the girls to yesterday.  They were in there over two hours and still did not want to leave!  I guess I don't blame them but I thought it was cool in there.  I guess I'm getting old. :(
I went tosome garage sales on the way to Kroger and I got some great deals.  Also my neighbor was having a garage sale and I purchased some items that I will redo and show you later.
I hope everyone is having a good week-end.  I'm enjoying my long week-end.

I Won!!

I posted in June that Being Tazim was having a 30 day giveaway and there's her button on the right side here.  I entered for some of the items that I would like or know someone who would like them.  Get this - I won a cat tile made by Kimbas Critters!  It's number 21 on the list and being the cat person that I am of course makes me sooo excited.  I love Kimbas Etsy shop and I think that you would also.  Check it out

Second post today!  Maybe I'll win something else!

Decorating a Pill Bottle

I saw a challenge on about.com to decorate a pill bottle. And it hit me what I needed to do and I had just thrown some empty ones away so I dug through the trash. The entire how to is very long but in anything decoupage there are several steps and then the drying. I'm very excited to have my idea posted so take a look at http://familycrafts.about.com/od/filmandpillbottlecrafts/ss/pill-bottle-necklace-craft.htm

Hope you like it and I have another one that I did for the other granddaughter that I will post about soon. Lots of fun!
