Long Time No See

I can't believe that it has been 5 months since I posted.  What happened?  We'll in the spring I fell out in the yard and ended up having knee surgery on the same knee that I had surgery on last October.  Now it's bone on bone so I'm trying to be very very careful.  I had a lot of problems with swelling and finally doc removed the water from my knee (It HURT!!) and now I'm doing much better.  I'm walking without a limp and I'm feeling more energized.  Amazing what one thing can do to your whole system.

I haven't really done a lot of anything as I had to be in bed when I wasn't at work.  But I hope to show you some of my flowers if blogger will let me load them.  I have been able to turn on the water so I still have some pretty flowers.

Well blogger or my Internet will not take me into photos.  I'll have to try later.  Hope everyone is doing well and that it's cooler and maybe you even had rain!!!

This is some old old quilt blocks that I'm selling on E-Bay as I don't know if I will ever do anything with them.

This is an old quilt top that I'm selling on E-Bay.  I bought several old tops a few years ago and here they sit.  Time to get them out of here as we are cleaning house.  My daughter and I are going thru everything and I mean every piece of paper and everything so that I can get rid of some stuff!!!  It's feeling good.

My New Sewing Item

My friend told me a few weeks ago that she was getting rid of her big sewing item and I told her I'd like to buy it if I could.  She gave it to me and she and her husband came over today and set it up.  Want to see what it is???????

I had to set it up in my living room as I have a small house.  I have wonderful light in this room and I'm going to move my sewing machines and everything in here.  Is this not an unbelievable gift?  Now I'll have to practice using it as I have a stack of tops to quilt.  I may take some lessons and my friend knows someone who she may send over to teach me more.  Payment - I will quilt things for her and I house sit/dog sit once in a while.  Can you believe this?  I feel sooooo blessed to have friends like her.
Count your blessings today!!!

Jellyroll Start

Can you believe that I'm back so soon?  I'm suppose to clean house this morning before I go to work but I keep getting distracted.  Ever happen to anyone else?

This is the start of my jellyroll quilt.  I have all of the four patch blocks made and all of the setting fabric cut.  I'm following the book and you start in the corner and work your way across.  This has been fun so far!!  I'll work more on it this week-end, I hope.

Does anyone else have a helper like this?  I'm so scared that I'm going to cut him but he wants to help!!!
This is what I work on when I watch tv.  I'm making Lucy's afghan.  The pattern is on the Attic 24 Blog at
I love Lucy's blog and she has the most wonderful photos

Check back as I have a recycle project for this bottle!!!
Hope everyone has a great day/evening.  Rain, gloomy and maybe snow tonight.
Someday my Spring will appear!!

Jelly Roll Books and Peanut Butter

This is the Jelly Roll quilt that I'm working on.  They used Heather Bailey's fabric and I would love to make it in her fabric also but Botany was what I had and I like it.
I had to go out and get setting fabric and wouldn't you know that I would pick polka dots!!  Love the DOTS!!

These are all of my 4 square blocks and they are all set in a triangle pattern.  Very cool!!
This is a quilt of beach houses designed by Jenny Hutchison and I love this quilt!!

This is a Peace Medallion and was designed by Paula Diggle

This is May Flowers designed by Joanne Ridley and I want to walk out in my garden and see this quilt waiting for me!!!

This is the first book that Pam and Nicky Lintott did on Jelly Rolls.  Great things inside this one and I'm sooo happy that I purchased both of their books.
Is this not a beauty?

The Friendship Braid fabrics in this photo are by Anna Griffin.  Very calm and soothing!!

Garden Trellis - love the design
This is Sparkling Gemstones and it's made with Kaffe Fassett's fabric.  Is there more to say?  :)

This is my Peanut Butter boy and this is the reason it's hard to get the bed made.  He gets comfy and I can't move him so I let him and the bed be.  I think he looks good next to these hot pink sheets.  He'll be 15 years old soon and his sister is harder to catch and she is shy.

Thanks for stopping by and part of this post is next because I could not get photos to post.  So I go from over a month of not posting to two.  I hope you are having a wonderful day/evening.

Part one Jelly Roll

I started a post and had a bunch of photos loaded and it threw it out!!  So here I go again.  This is loaded with photos and info about 2 quilting books that I bought and some other stuff!!  :)  I can't seem to get more photos at the moment.  So I'll talk about these - which is my latest project.
MODA Botany Jellyroll!!  I wish the photos were better but it's raining and dreary today.  This is very yummy!!!
Here are bad photos around the roll

This photo turned out better

This is the book that I'm loving right now.  I don't usually buy books as I can get so many patterns and ideas off the Internet and the library has tons of books.  But I was in Jo Ann's I had a coupon and this book had to go home with me!!  A purchase that I highly recommend.
Jelly Roll Inspirations by Pam and Nicky Lintott.  This is a step-by-step guide and there are 12 Jelly Roll Quilts in the book.  This is a sequel to their book Jelly Roll Quilts and I went back a couple of weeks later and purchased that one.  There are 17 projects in the first book.  I don't usually do a book review but the photos of each quilt, the instructions, etc. are easy to follow and the quilt I worked on yesterday with the above Jelly Roll was quick.  Sometimes I'm all over the place but by going step by step with the book I stayed organized.

I'm going to have to do two posts as Blogger won't let me upload anymore photos.  I'll get on that right now.

January 2011 Update

This is what I'm wishing to see
But this is what I'm seeing!!

Peanut Butter doesn't mind the bad weather as he is warm in my bed!

The week between Christmas and New Year's I did some work on the inside of my cabinets.
This looks awful but it was just worn shelf paper.  I also rearranged my cabinets and does that feel
                GOOD!!

This is my new paper which is actually wallpaper that I purchased on clearance a few years ago.  It makes great shelf paper.
This is my block for the Tag Square Bee and she wanted all blue.

While I was off I went and purchased the cheapest flannel and used tacks to put it on a wall in the basement.  And then I had my own Design Wall!!  These are blocks from the 3x6 Bee on Flicker.  I love all of these blocks and this will soon become a quilt.  The blocks are 12.5 x 12.5 so this will be a good size since I plan on there being 6 rows across and 6 down.  We just started our new swap but there is one every quarter and you are welcome to sign up now for the next one.  http://www.flickr.com/groups/6x3bee/
There are so many talented people and there are some fantastic photos.  Take a look!!

Sign ups are still open until the 15th for the Siggy Swap on Flicker.  http://www.flickr.com/groups/1564600@N20/
Read the guidelines and see if this is something that you would like to join as we would love to have you.  Right now we have 25 people signed up so there is room for more!!
It has been snowing since 5am and is supposed to stop around 7pm.  Right now it's still coming down.  I stopped by the library on my way home from work and picked up some books and on quilt book to browse through.  The book is Dimensional Quilts by Phyllis Dobbs.  Here are a few photos from the book.  If I can remember I will let you know what I think when I go through it.

It's snowing harder again so I'm going to stick my head in this book.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to get back into blogging more.  Have a great day/evening!!

Siggy Swap on Flicker

I'm hosting a signature block swap on Flicker.  Have you ever thought about participating?  I'm sure that someone is saying "What's a signature block swap" and the block below can be your guide.  In the white area you will write your name, city, state, country, and the year 2011.  You will make one block for each person that signs  up and go here and read the instructions in full and I hope they make sense than my rambling.
You do not have to use this specific block but can use your own pattern or idea as long as the block is
4.5 x 4.5 inches.  I hope you'll take the time to check it out and sign up.  There is a limit of 75 swappers.

The following blocks were made for me by 3x6 Bee swappers.  Aren't they BEAUTIFUL!!!  I was in two groups and there is a new swap starting in January and there is still time to sign up.  This is another Flicker group
I believe the last day to sign up should be posted in the rules and will be next week.  I have chosen the fabric colors of black, white and yellow.  I love this combination!!  You can change your colors each time you sign up but I want a nice big quilt so for a while I'll continue with these for now.
Go check out the site if for no other reason than to see all of the designs and color combinations.  They are worth the time and will give you sooo many ideas.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas!!  I hope to be back on before the New Year!!
